Seattle Persian School

(206) 549-9387

The Seattle Persian School is a nonprofit educational institution in Washington State that provides instruction in the Persian language and offers cultural programming for children and youth. The school is operated by a volunteer board of directors and serves families seeking to maintain or develop connections to Persian linguistic and cultural traditions.

The curriculum includes immersion-based classes for students who already understand Persian. These courses use Persian as the sole language of instruction to strengthen reading, writing, and communication skills. Additional bilingual classes are offered for beginners, combining Persian and English to introduce basic literacy and spoken language. Instruction is organized into progressive levels, each designed for specific age groups and stages of learning.

Alongside its language programs, the school conducts activities such as public speaking, choir, dance, and theater. These programs support cultural expression and provide opportunities for students to participate in performances associated with Iranian seasonal celebrations, including winter and spring festivals.

Through its educational offerings and community involvement, the Seattle Persian School contributes to the preservation and transmission of Persian language and cultural heritage within the Iranian diaspora in the Pacific Northwest. Its work reflects broader efforts to sustain cultural continuity across generations.
