Alefba Group is a social and cultural nonprofit organization based in Washington State and established in 2019. Its mission is to promote Iranian and Persian culture while providing social, educational, and community-oriented services to the local population, particularly Iranian Americans in the Seattle area. The organization’s name, “Alefba,” meaning “alphabet,” reflects its emphasis on connection, community building, and the idea of linking individuals across generations and backgrounds.

Alefba Group hosts a variety of cultural events and programs, including celebrations of Nowruz, Yalda, Tirgan, Mehregan, and Sadeh. The organization also offers educational and recreational activities for seniors, young adults, and professionals, as well as discussion groups, networking opportunities, and non-religious, non-political media content in written, audio, and visual formats.

Its structure is organized into committees, each symbolically representing a “letter” of the group’s alphabet. Permanent committees include Radio Iranshahr, Music, Education, Chashni (culinary arts), Society, Health and Wellness, and Public Relations. Additional provisional committees focus on heritage and youth programming.

Alefba Group is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a public charity under section 509(a)(2) and is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3). The organization states that its work aims to support community well-being, encourage cultural understanding, and strengthen social ties among Iranian Americans in the Pacific Northwest.
